Sarah Sands Phillips (b. Toronto, Canada) is an interdisciplinary artist and poet whose practice involves painting, photography, moving image, and sculpture. She holds an MFA from the Ruskin School of Art at the University of Oxford (2019), an MA from Concordia University (2012), and a BFA (Hons) from Queen’s University (2007). Sands Phillips has exhibited in Canada and internationally at the North Wall Arts Centre, UK, General Hardware Contemporary, Angell Gallery, Birch Contemporary, Gallery 44: Centre for Contemporary Photography, and Mulherin New York, NY. In 2019 she moved to Japan as an ambassador of St Anne’s College, the University of Oxford, on a fully-funded Tsuzuki language scholarship. She is the recipient of the Erna Plachte Scholarship and awards from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and the Canada Council for the Arts. Her work is in the collection of TD Art Collection, and RBC Collection. She is represented by General Hardware Contemporary.
